Students draw a simple tree design on one side of the folded paper. The drawing is gone over again to create a dark line. The paper is then folded back. We use the window to help us see through the paper. We now rub on the back with the point of the pencil. This process will transfer a light image on to the right side of the paper. We th open the paper and go over these new lines for a matching side picture.
The next step is to go over these lines with crayon pastel, then watercolors. There are many variations possible with different trees. You could also try a half tree on each side with a full tree in the middle. The result would be three full trees and a half tree on each end. See below for sequence.
