PAINTING A CROPPED VIEW OF PLANTS

We used a viewer to isolate a section of the plant. The  view  was drawn with pencil, then gone over with ink or crayon pastel. Students decided whether to do a color background or use black. The shapes were heavily outlined first so the fill in was more successful.

Here you can see a student using the viewer. It is important that the student concentrates on a steady constant view.
